Weekly Report from the Board Meeting at Holman Prison

Today we discussed long and short term lethal injection perspectives. We hope that the long term one as discussed in David A Love's article, "Lethal Injection as the Death Penalty's Last Stand" will soon prevail over the short term one, which sadly was illustrated by the execution in Ohio today. We remain cautiously optimistic, which in reality is our only choice.

There were reports from the Small Groups and the elections for postions which mirror the Board of phadp. Not only are these Small Groups important because more men are reached, but they also ready men to join the sub-board and then the Board as vacancies occur for various reasons.

There was a brief report of the Quarterly NAACP State Conference meeting in Montgomery last Saturday. I am honored to be the chair of its Death Penalty/Moratorium Committee.

See you next week!
