Weekly Report from the Board Meeting at Holman Prison 6.27.18

Weekly Report from the Board Meeting at Holman Prison 6.27.18

The 25th annual Starvin’ for Justice fast and vigil before the U.S. Supreme Court will take place June 29th- July 2nd. As announced earlier Project Hope to Abolish the Death Penalty continued its tradition of being one of its listed sponsors. We encourage our friends to click on the link and read all about it. http://www.abolition.org/fastandvigil/

Looking at the list of upcoming executions in Texas and Ohio in the next couple of months one realizes just how important the above event continues to be.

And speaking of events there will be no Board meeting next week as Wednesday falls on the 4th July. Birthdays are a good opportunity to take stock of oneself and so my wish for our country’s birthday is that instead of patting ourselves on the back and telling ourselves just how great we are we acknowledge just how short we fall in so many areas again and again. Yes, we can do better and yes, we could be a leader but when it comes to human rights and care for our beautiful country we have a very long way to go. We wish you a thoughtful celebration and will see you the week after next!
