People convicted of rape or sodomy of a child younger than 12 would face the death penalty under a bill that advanced last Wednesday in the Alabama House of Representatives. The House Judiciary Committee approved the bill by Rep. Matt Simpson, R-Daphne, putting it in position for consideration by the full House. The committee approved the bill after Simpson debated with Rep. Chris England, D-Tuscaloosa, a death penalty opponent who said making sex crimes against children a capital offense could have the opposite of the intended effect.

House Bill 20 which makes those in Alabama who are found guilty of using a weapon to murder someone in public eligible for the death penalty passed out of Committee.

Chaplain Smoker’s year long course “Authentic Manhood” had its graduation ceremony which was celebrated with delicious food provided by Chaplain Smoker and his wife! Much appreciation from all of us!
