Governor Ivey has set October 23rd as the execution date for our Chairman, Anthony Boyd. Last Friday the Rev. Dr. Jeff Hood gave a speech underneath a bill board “SAVE ANTHONY BOYD” in Montgomery sponsored by his organization Execution Intervention Project. Death Penalty Action was also present and Abe Bonowitz also spoke as did Esther for phadp. It was moving as it also included a demonstration by the Rev. Dr, Jeff Hood of the gas mask used to torture people to death. There will be another event with a bill board in Talladega on the 8th and we will keep you informed! We appreciated the presentation by Ronald Wyers at the annual Alabama Arise meeting on judicial override which is still not retroactive. Ronald also took the opportunity to comment on the horror of last week’s execution. We thank him! He will also be attending the presentation by Dr. Katie Owens-Murphy at St Andrews in Birmingham and represent us on Death Penalty Action’s THE FORECAST, upcoming executions in the U.S. We are grateful!
