We very much appreciate those who have already written to Governor Ivey on behalf of Willie B. Smith and signed the petition and urge those who haven’t to do so. Some of his brothers on death row, the men who know Willie best, are also writing to the Governor on his behalf. We hope she will hear them.

We are working diligently on several projects in response to outside requests from contacts. We appreciate the requests and the trust they demonstrate in our ability to meet them correctly and efficiently,

Our thanks to our representatives at the Alabama Arise meeting on September 25 and to all our friends whose vote made Death Penalty Reform, including a law to require juries to be unanimous in any decision to impose a death sentence one of the key priorities for Alabama Arise for 2022 one more time. This vote represents an important part of our roadmap to abolish the death penalty in Alabama one day.
