The Alabama Supreme Court has authorized the execution of Jeffery Lee.
The warrant is now on Governor Ivey’s desk. She has the power to set the date and she has the power to grant clemency. Meanwhile it is important to note that he has many powerful issues, including 7-5 jury override of the life without sentence for which the jury had voted and at the time of the crime an untreated TBI. Mr. Lee is a highly respected member of our Board and Secretary/Treasurer. Jeffery Lee has a Facebook page “Life For Jeffery Lee” where you can learn more about Jaylove, as he is called by his friends and family.
The Attorney General has also asked for an execution date for Michael Taylor.
In honor of the historic commutation of Mr. Charles “Sonny” Burton’s death sentence, there is an in-person celebration of Mr. Burton, his family, his legal team, and the community that fought alongside them!
