As our supporters will already know the State of Alabama has set 7.28.22 as the execution date for Joe N. Many thanks to those of you who have already contacted the Governor and to those who have shared the Talking Points! The Death Penalty Information Center published the following: “Just 55% of Americans consider the death penalty morally acceptable, according to a Gallup poll released on June 9, 2022. That number matches the level of acceptability reported in 2021, and is just one percentage point higher than the record low set in 2020.” Although one could say that this country is more or less heading in the right direction when one takes the one percent loss from last year one wonders how much more moral education has to take place before this country abolishes state sanctioned killing.

As members of phadp we are aware of the importance of our organization in our lives and lest we forget are reminded by inquiries from other states on how to start a similar group on their death row. Step by step!
