Weekly Report from the Board Meeting at Holman Prison 6.3.26
Governor Ivey set 6.11.26 as the execution date for Jeffery Lee and she has the power to grant clemency. It is important to note that he has many powerful issues, including 7-5 jury override of the life without sentence for which the jury had voted and at the time of the crime an untreated TBI
Mr. Lee is a highly respected and much loved member of our Board and Secretary/Treasurer. Jeffery Lee has a Facebook page “Life For Jeffery Lee” and a website https://www.lifeforjefferylee.com/ where you can learn more about Jaylove, as he is called by his friends and family. The Talking Points and address for the Governor can be found at https://www.phadp.org/execution-alert-10/ .and the petition https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/stop-the-execution-of-jeffery-lee-in-alabama/ We are forwarding actions from his team The Life for Jeffery Lee Campaign, and hope that we can count on you to act on his behalf!
It was and is our honor to hand out information and ask people to sign the petition at grocery stores, parking lots, post office, a church, the library wherever life takes us. Once you start this the opportunities are endless!

Federal Judge Upholds Constitutionality of Nitrogen Gas Executions – USNews The decision is being appealed and one wishes that those deciding had been actual witnesses of this torture death! We appreciate Josh Moon’s take on this: “Suffocating for three minutes and dying is not cruel and unusual punishment.
So said a federal court judge in Alabama last week, as the first ruling on the use of nitrogen gas as a method of execution ended exactly the way you thought it would in Alabama.
District Court Judge Emily Marks heard the case, which was brought by Jeffrey Lee, an inmate who is scheduled to be executed by nitrogen gas on June 11. Marks’ ruling in the case was a case study in hypocrisy and lunacy, as evidenced by this doozy of a line: “While Lee establishes that death by nitrogen hypoxia involves some suffering, he fails to show that the protocol is cruel and unusual in violation of the Eighth Amendment.”
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has signed the Child Predator Death Penalty Act into law — making Alabama one of the toughest states in the nation on convicted child sex offenders. The law takes effect October 1, 2026. “Child Predators Present the Strongest Case for the Death Penalty…But It’s Still Unjustifiable”
