Weekly Report from the Board Meeting at Holman Prison 6.30.21
With July 4th and Independence Day just around the corner we discussed how the meaning of that day like all other days of celebration depends on where one finds oneself, physically as well as mentally. Is it a day for barbecues, family get togethers or hope of a better meal or as is the tradition here at Holman a day for competitions? All of that takes some organizing which we enjoy and when it is all done we have champions in dominoes, scrabble, chess and checkers. And then there is outside where we have volley ball and basket ball champion teams. So maybe Independence Day is really interdependence day? As we of phadp believe that we are family interdependence Day sounds good and makes sense!
In this spirit we would like to lift up the annual Fast and Vigil, Starvin’ for Justice in Washington, DC June 29th - July 2nd. It is their 28th year. We are proud to be one of its sponsors.

Our immense appreciation and gratitude to the Alabama State Conference of the NAACP and Greater Birmingham Ministries for signing on to the letter demanding that FDR Safety and Clinical Pharmacology Services immediately abandon its corporate program to build nitrogen gas execution chambers and stop profiting from death. Our thanks also to Alabama CURE and NATIONAL CURE of which we are a life time member who also signed.
