Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey set a 30-hour time frame for the execution of Jeremy Williams. The execution must occur between anytime Aug. 13 and 6 a.m. Aug. 14. Jeremy Williams is a volunteer because he wants to save the murder victims’ families further grief and as a way of atoning for what he did.

Robyn Hyden, executive director of Alabama Arise, says the coalition “We the jury” was founded to ask Governor Kay Ivey to grant clemency to the 25 men who are on death row due to judicial override of a jury, which the Alabama Legislature ruled to be unconstitutional in 2017.
“We The Jury—a new coalition of jurors, judges, attorneys, elected officials, community advocates and activists—is urging Governor Kay Ivey to grant clemency to death row inmates who were sentenced by judicial override, a now-illegal sentencing scheme that allowed judges to override a jury’s life sentence recommendation in favor of the death penalty.” Our supporter in Huntsville continues to contact churches and is doing incredible work! We are grateful!

We read with much interest the article “Former Tennessee Correction Official Shares His Experience of Trauma as Member of Execution Team” as well as the one written by a former warden at FSP in Florida, Ron McAndrew. Perhaps the public will care about the executioners even if it doesn’t care about those executed?
We welcome a new anti-death penalty organization: “Bermudians Against the Death Penalty” : Bermuda Knows What the Gallows Cost. Its founders are the Rev. Dr. Jeff Hood and the Rev. Dr. Augustine Tanner-Ihm, senior minister at Wesley Community Church in Hamilton. Every time an execution is scheduled in the United States, we are asking people to gather outside the United States Consulate at 16 Middle Road in Devonshire, Bermuda!
A very special thank you to some very special individuals! We lift up the family members/ friends of our brothers who have been executed and who continue to support us. We thank you and want you to know that they are not forgotten. They were our brothers!
And while we are thanking, something that is justice, we would also like to thank the journalists who witnessed the gas executions and then testified to what they had witnessed in a professional manner, not picking sides, just reporting the facts as they had witnessed them. We owe them a big thank you!
